It is more than a temperature quilt it is an ALMANAC Quilt! Rain, wind and temperature all depicted in one quilt design. A temperature quilt is made by defining a range of temperatures and assigning one fabric to each range. Then the high and low temperature of the day is visually represented by using those two fabrics and repeating the design. The Almanac Quilt pattern combines the days into weeks. An umbrella showcases the high and low temperature for each day that week. Raindrops are used to show the number and amount of rain in that same week. The bigger the raindrop the more rain. The average wind speed is reflected in the tilt or angle of the umbrella. So at a glance you can see the windiest weeks of the year as those umbrellas are practically upside down.
